Find the location: Copy the coordinates below. Open Google Earth, paste the coordinates into "Fly To" and click on the magnifying glass. 38° 59' 47.92" N Equipment: EOS 5D Mark II, 24-105mm lens. Taken at f/23 for 0.3 seconds, with bracket of about 1 stop each way. Digital imaging/manipulation: HDR image with Photomatrix 3.0. See HDR under "About Us." Removed a leaf at the edge of the picture. Notes: While staying in Herndon VA, we found this park in a Delorme Atlas of the state. While the NPS lists it as a "park" rather than a "national park," it is well worth a visit. Several platforms allow access to a good view of the water which can vary 40 feet or more in depth during the year. Several signs warn of multiple yearly drownings which suprisingly are more frequent during the summer when the water is lower. This picture was taken at the end of April. |
